Not much to report here, I've mostly been running around finishing up Christmas shopping and eating bad food ;). No IPS or RPS to report except that I'm always starving, but as the bean(s) would have barely implanted by now (if at all), I think I need to blame that one on myself. Along those lines, NoodleGuy is a huge Dr. Pepper aficionado and there's a new buffalo wings place down here that offers a special "Dr. Pepper Wing" and we're off to try those in a little bit ;).
I did POAS today. It's 9dp trigger/7dpo, so I just wanted to see if the trigger shot was out of my system. And, indeed, it is, it was 100% negative. So...if I continue to POAS, anything after this point should be accurate. I'm wrestling with skipping tests tomorrow and Friday, both because I don't want to test/worry on Christmas plus it would only be 8dpo and 9dpo, so I'd likely get negatives either way and I don't see much point in torturing myself. Plus those HPTs are pricey! Seriously, they're mass-produced pieces of paper encased in cheap-o plastic -- do they really need to be $18 for a 3-pack? They know us TTC ladies too well...
I've never been a POASer before, not sure why I'm embracing the idea this time. I think it's because I've kind of accepted the idea that this is a longshot for me, so I'm almost ready for a BFN. Don't get me wrong, I'll be crushed to get one this cycle after it was such an up and down cycle and ended (so far) on such a high note. But I'm more impatient for the results this time so I can start planning the next step.
So, the plan for now is to start testing with FRER on Saturday morning, which would be 10dpo. Still pretty early, so a HPT negative wouldn't be definite. Our flight home is at 6:40am on that morning, so I'll probably do the test at 4:30am, before we leave for the airport, if FMU is concentrated enough. Hopefully being half-asleep will keep me from obsessing too much -- yea, right! ;).
Happy holidays to all!
Have a wonderful holiday and good idea on taking a break from POAS. Those things aren't always the most accurate. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteIn my limited experience with the hpt's, I've found that once you start you can't stop, so setting a poas schedule makes sense :).
ReplyDeleteAt least you know the trigger is gone, so there won't be any wondering about that later. Please tell me you won't be poas'ing at 30,000 feet :). Although, actually, that would make a good story - getting a BFP on a plane!
I was so happy to see an update from you in my google reader :)
ReplyDeleteFirst things first - OMG - Dr.Pepper wings? I could seriously die and go to heaven! I LOVE Dr.Pepper. So much so that I actually drive 30 minutes away to buy Diet Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper in bulk (and yes, I know, I have a problem!)
So I'm very interested to hear how those wings are!
On to more important things: POAS'ing. Well, here is my 2 cents. I HATE FRER's. Especially after I had such a run around with them during my IVF cycle. My advice is to go for the $tree tests (yes, I know they are cheapies but they are actually very sensitive) or the CBE Digitals. You can save a lot of $$ that way too. A five pack of the CBE Digitals at Wally World should run you around $20.00.
I'm so excited for you!
If you're going to POAS, I highly recommend the CBE Digital since it gave me my BFP at 10 dpo...apparently those things are amazingly sensitive! I'm with the PP too- poas'ing at 30k feet and getting a bfp would be awesome! It would totally blow my Target story out of the water! :)
ReplyDeleteDr. Pepper wings? Hmmm...interesting. I do love hot wings though.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy your 2WW. I feel like I'm getting PTSD just thinking about my next one. UGH! BUT I am excited for you. I hope you get some positive news on Saturday. I'll be waiting impatiently for an update.
Have a great Christmas!
i wish you the best of luck
ReplyDeletemerry christmas! ICLW hugs!
Ah, POAS. It's fun, isn't it? I'm glad you know the trigger is gone. I got my BFP on a dollar cheapie and on a digital at 10DPO and the FRER showed negative. I'm hoping the habit doesn't get expensive and you get that good news before your flight!!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
I am so glad you are having an uneventful 1WW. I am taking it as a good sign for you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
You make a great point - those doggone HPTs are nothing more than a strip of paper encased in plastic. Why ARE they so expensive? Well, I'm going to think positive thoughts and send as much baby dust your way as I can. I don't want you to have to plan your next steps...I want this to be IT for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the thoughtful, supportive comment on my blog. I truly appreciate your understanding.
Happy holidays to you! Have a safe trip.
Sending you good, lucky vibes - and I can totally understand why POAS would be addictive.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
Yummy, Dr. Pepper Wings! You're making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your BFP! Just remember that it isn't over until AF shows up, so even if you get a negative at 12DPO, it isn't over yet. Best of wishes for a New Year's miracle!
