One of the things you should never say to a third trimester pregnant lady taking a reprieve from 90+ degree heat in Stop & Shop?
"OH MY GOD, you look like you're ready to pop ANY SECOND!"
Especially if you're a worker in said grocery store. Suck it, androgynous deli-counter person.
Sorry!!! Yes... those lovely comments just get worse and worse as the date gets closer... when I was 41 weeks a woman nicely told me I was the most pregnant women she'd ever seen. Why people feel the need to comment on a pregnant woman's size i'll never know!
ReplyDeletesince I hope to continue to be pregnant with twins, I imagine I'll get to hear it even sooner than 31 weeks! I'll be you look adorable!
ReplyDeleteIt's just as annoying when they ask when you're due and you tell them and they say where are you hiding the baby? There's no way you could be that pregnant.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion if you see a pregnant woman you should tell her she looks beautiful if you want to comment at all. That's it. No further discussion necessary. I'm sure you look beautiful!!
Um, yeah. SO not cool - I hope you actually told her to suck it.
ReplyDeleteB***CH! I don't know why people think they can say that kind of thing to preggos. A guy at work started saying "wow, you're huge" and "are you sure today isn't the day" to me by the last couple weeks...he thought he was so funny *UGH*
ReplyDeleteUgh, people suck!
ReplyDeleteI do not understand why people say things like that.. do they really think it will make you feel good?!?!
ReplyDeleteLiz was in Lo.we's the other day and someone asked her if she was on her way to the hospital...what the hell are they thinking could be so important at that store that you'd need to stop there on your way to the hospital! people have no sense!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love it?!? We had our big quarterly meetings at work today so I actually wore a dress and all I heard all day was "You look so pregnant!" All I wanted to say was "Well, no s#!t Sherlock, I am so pregnant!"
ReplyDeleteHaha, maybe it's just me being an infertile beyotch, but I've said that one before to multiple friends who've had one, two and three kids before me. Very passive-aggressive of me, I know...
ReplyDeleteSorry though - it's not a very polite thing to say! And WOW is it hot, or what on the East coast?!
