This is the u/s picture from last Friday, at 8w1d. It's been a week so Peanut's is WAY beyond this now, probably smoking and skateboarding and hanging out in the bad neighborhoods of my uterus.
Hi! Thanks so much for checking in on me and commenting on my blog. It's so true...if we feel good, we start to wonder whether the baby has vaporized! Your post made me laugh. Maybe our kids sneak out together and go cruise the neighborhood, smoking and skateboarding. Ha ha ha. Oh...so you're going through the Dutch name thing too. And you know what? I'm Irish! I love the Irish names. Finn is adorable!
As for the CVS testing, our risk for Downs based upon our egg donor's age was 1 in 3,100. They also computed risk based on my age (1 in 85, which is high risk) but my age has nothing to do with this baby b/c it's not my egg. The gentic counselor told us the risk of miscarriage at their clinic with CVS is 1 in 500. For me, that is too high, especially since there will be second trimester blood testing available to refine the risk odds further.
Just things to think about. Definitely have a discussion with your doctor about it.
So happy to see your little one! It's great fun to see how fast they grow! And when you see the first waive of a hand...it's overwhelming!
